The Deliverer

Captain’s Log, Entry 2834

The humans must be destroyed!” shouted the Curator. “They are polluting their oceans; they are overpopulating their planet and destroying one another. They are a people filled with hate, rage, and racism.”

“Hear, hear!” affirmed Hogar of the tribunal. “No good can come from this species. Their technology is primitive. Their ways, prehistoric. Nothing more than mere savages.”

“They must be eliminated, before their ways spread through the solar system like a disease, infecting our sector,” said one called Kuluth.

“Then it is decid—” the Curator said.

A voice spoke out from the crowd, “I object!”

“Who —?”

“It is I, Kenn-Darr.”

“Why do you defy the will of the tribunal?” the Curator demanded.

Kenn-Darr stood and faced the council. “I am from Earth, and even though they have made mistakes, my people are not beyond redemption. Though far from perfect, they can become an asset to the galaxy.”

“Your people have not learned in all these years!” the Curator stated with extreme force while holding his hand in the air. “The decision is final! We will prepare our forces for extinction at once!”

“But what about the legends?” Kenn-Darr pleaded. “Of the Deliverer who can bring change to the humans and save us all?”

“It is too late for the people of planet Earth,” the Curator said with a slight grin. “The tales of the Deliverer are a those of a madman.”

“Heaven help them,” Kenn-Darr said while lowering his head in shame.

“Da-Kaan, prepare the armada!” Commanded the Curator.

Captain’s Log, Entry 2835

I readied our ships for the journey through the space-time continuum to Earth’s solar system. But, before the extinction protocols, I decided to investigate the planet, intrigued by the tales I had heard about its inhabitants.

My travels took me to the land of Egypt and the city of Thebes. The city was vast with a vibrant culture filled with golden statues and impressive architecture. The land was rich and fertile, supported by a great river where children played, laughed, and sang songs of their ancestors. I had never seen such utopia. However, my orders were clear. Earth must be destroyed.

Eventually I discovered what appeared to be a grand temple at the center of the city. As I approached with my troops, the temple guards, understandably distress by our sudden appearance, braced themselves for attack.

“I am Da-Kaan of Space Sector 5, captain of the armies of the Great Tribunal,” I said. “I am here to warn the inhabitants of Earth that the Tribunal has ordered your destruction! But I have seen your world. Your civilization intrigues me. Here, you are more advanced than other parts of the galaxy. Summon your leader!”

After several minutes, a young boy appeared from the temple, adorned in jewels, covered in a golden robe, and wearing a holy headdress that glistened in the sun.

“Here is our leader, our Pharaoh Tutankhamen! He is our beloved king. Our society has never thrived more than under his rule.”

My men and I fell to our knees. My eyes began to water. His power was immense. His glory was overwhelming. I was in the presence of a god among men. The legends throughout the galaxy were true. It was Him. The one who will save us all.

I transmitted a final message to the Tribunal: “I will reside in the land of Egypt, where I have found One who is worthy. I will teach him our ways. I will teach his people our architecture of pyramids, our written language of hieroglyphs, and our intergalactic culture. I have found the answer to the riddle of life, the secret of the galaxies, the One. Some might claim this as a madman's tale but thine eyes have beheld The Deliverer.”
